The Tascam MP-800U DAB is a versatile audio player for touring and fixed installations. It allows playback from SD or USB media or from the internal DAB/FM radio receiver, features a USB D/A converter and also supports streaming via Bluetooth as an option. Versatile Playback Media
The MP-800U DAB offers multi-format playback via its front-panel SD card slot and USB flash drive port. Compatible file types include WAV, MP3 and AAC.
Bluetooth And USB Streaming Made Easy
With the optional AK-BT2 adapter, the MP-800U DAB handily streams Bluetooth audio into any installation. Plus, its USB DAC (Digital-to-Analogue Converter) lets you connect any USB-equipped device – such as laptops, smartphones and tablets - via the front-panel USB-C port, enabling additional playback options like accessing music libraries on computers.
Tune In with DAB or FM Radio
The MP-800U DAB features a built-in DAB/FM tuner for easy access to radio programs. Its dedicated tuner output, via unbalanced RCA connectors, ensures seamless integration with any audio system. Up to twenty user presets can be easily accessed via the front panel or remote control.
Flexible Outputs
Equipped with balanced and unbalanced outputs, the MP-800U DAB can be quickly and easily integrated into a variety of audio systems. With two output level controls – one for combined XLR, RCA and headphone outputs, and another for independent tuner attenuation – this media player offers smooth and precise level adjustment.
Professional Playback Features
Playback on a professional level is at the heart of the MP-800U DAB. Power-on-Play automatically starts playback on startup, while Fade-in/Fade-out ensures smooth track transitions. Auto-Cue, Auto-Ready and Incremental Play keep your playlists ready, Key Original changes pitch without changing speed, while Pitch Control adjusts both tempo and key.
Q-SYS Control (integration under development)
Currently under development, this plugin will integrate the MP-800U DAB with the Q-SYS Platform using the optional Tascam IF-E100 Ethernet card. This will allow full playback control to be accessed directly from the Q-SYS user control interface.
Transport functions, source selection and file navigation can be accessed through Q-SYS without touching the hardware, thus streamlining operations in commercial AV environments such as conference centres, hospitality spaces and houses of worship. The official Tascam plugin will be available via the Q-SYS Designer software.
