The new 9301B multichannel interface offers you a simple and robust way to digitally connect and integrate 7300 Series Smart Active Subwoofers as part of any Genelec immersive audio system. It works by providing seamless multichannel digital audio connectivity to the subwoofer’s single digital AES/EBU XLR input/output.

By installing the 9301B in your signal path, you'll gain 16 flawless digital channels for use with popular formats such as 9.1.6 and enjoy up to 32 channels with the addition of a second 9301B unit and 73xx subwoofer, enabling support for even larger configurations such as 22.2.

What does it do?

  • Enables multichannel digital-audio connectivity for 73xx subwoofers over AES/EBU XLR.
  • Eases subwoofer connection in systems up to 9.1.6 (16 channels), using a single 9301B interface and 73xx subwoofer.
  • Increases support up to 32 channels with the addition of a second 9301B interface and 73xx subwoofer.
  • Works seamlessly with GLM version 4.3 and up (GLM 4.3 is due in late 2022).
  • Directly replaces the 8-channel 9301A.

How will I benefit?

  • Provides a complete 16-channel digital-audio monitoring solution when used with a single 73xx subwoofer.
  • Allows you to add a second 9301B and 73xx subwoofer, which increases support to 32 channels for systems such as 22.2.
  • One 9301B supports all popular object- based and channel-based audio formats.
  • Adapts perfectly to your chosen format, layout and space by utilising GLM 4.3 or above.
  • Enables highly increased SPL performance by simplifying the daisy chaining of multiple subwoofers.
  • Works seamlessly with your existing Genelec SAM monitors and subwoofers.

Typical applications

  • Subwoofer integration in high channel-count systems using digital audio signals.
  • Monitoring or playback of immersive and multichannel audio formats.
  • AES/EBU digital-audio playback with or without an LFE channel.

How is it used?

  • Higher acoustic output (SPL) is achieved by daisy chaining two or more subwoofers via their single digital-audio XLR outputs and inputs; a setup supported in GLM.
  • One or more 9301B interfaces are inserted into the signal path of the system to increase channel-count support (up to 16 channels with a single 9301B, or 32 with two 9301Bs and a second 73xx subwoofer).
  • Inputs from DAW: 2 x DB25 (for Tascam AES/EBU pinout digital audio snake cable). – Where possible, DB25 to DB25 cables may be used.
  • Outputs to monitors: 1 x DB25 (for Tascam analogue output pinout snake cable).
  • Output to the subwoofer uses a standard digital-audio AES/EBU XLR cable.
  • Please note that audio cables are not supplied
