WHAT WE RECORDED

The recording part for NEON was very challenging. A big challenge for futuristic sound effects design was obviously getting stuck into all kinds of synthesis and creating source material for our sound creation later on. We used both hardware and software synths and spent a lot of time on our ever-growing modular synth to create cutting edge sounds. We also spent a lot of time recording organic material like metal scrapes, drum impacts, make-shift instruments etc. to be able to put that through a synthesis and processing chain again. In that way we struck a very good balance between organic and synthetic material.
