Frequently Asked Questions

Why Auto-Tune Pro 11?

Auto-Tune stands out as the most sophisticated pitch correction effect, setting the industry standard for how tuning vocals should be done. Real-time pitch correction has never been easier, thanks to the low-latency mode, usable during studio recording or live performances. Furthermore, it seamlessly integrates with our Auto-Key 2 plug-in, allowing for quick and precise detection of keys, scales and tempos. With over two decades of development and evolution, Auto-Tune Pro 11 remains the industry-standard pitch-correction plug-in, trusted by both award-winning and independent artists.

What is pitch correction software?

A pitch correction plug-in is an effect that alters the pitch of your voice to make it sound perfectly tuned to the song's key. It takes the original pitch of the recordings and optimizes it so that each part of the vocals is pitch-perfect. Pitch correction is a carefully-crafted effect that leaves the voice's harmonic characteristics untouched while fixing any pitch-related issues, both in real-time or in the recording studio. Pitch correction software can be used as a natural sounding correction that is barely evident or a creative effect that changes vocals to give them the sound of modern productions.

How does Auto-Tune Pro 11 pitch correction software work?

On Auto-Tune Pro 11, you can use either the Auto Mode or Graph Mode interface. The Auto Mode is available in two different modes: Basic and Advanced. The Basic Auto Mode provides all the crucial features of Auto-Tune Pro 11 at a glance and lets you adjust the pitch easily and in real-time. The Advanced Auto Mode unlocks a series of more sophisticated processing tools, like Scale Editing and Vibrato Control. The Graph Mode gives you complete control over the vocal track, with revolutionary pitch editing tools that can apply customized settings to individual notes.. You can even apply different settings to different words in a song on an individual basis for super-granular control! Furthermore, thanks to the time correction features, you'll be able to correct timing imprecisions and improve your workflow immensely. The compatible Auto-Key 2 plug-in detects the key and scale of your track. It automatically transfers the information to the Auto-Tune Pro 11 plug-in for a faster and more straightforward vocal editing process.

What is ARA2 Support?

Audio Random Access (ARA) enhances communication between a DAW and a plug-in, enabling them to exchange more information, such as audio data, tempo, pitch, and rhythm, for an entire song rather than just at the moment of playback. The increased information exchange eliminates the need for audio material to be transferred to and from the plug-in. What this means for you is that ARA allows a plug-in to be used as a more closely integrated part of the DAW, and features such as playback and timeline selections are synced between the DAW and the Graph Mode in Auto-Tune Pro. This enables users to stay focused on working with vocals without constantly switching between the plug-in and DAW to adjust timeline locations.

What is Harmony Player?

Harmony Player is an innovative vocal effect that is seamlessly integrated into Auto-Tune Pro 11. It generates four-part harmonies, providing users with a hands-on approach to creating and mixing harmonies like an instrument.

How do I turn on the Harmony Player in Auto-Tune Pro 11?

Powered by the technology of our renowned Harmony Engine plug-in, Harmony Player allows users to create, mix, and MIDI-trigger four different harmonies within Auto-Tune Pro. To activate this feature, navigate to the Auto-Mode screen and click the power button labeled 'Harmony Player.' This button is located to the right of the Graph mode button and will turn blue when it's on. To access the controls for Harmony Player, click the 'Harmony Player' button located below the Auto Mode and Graph Mode buttons. This will display all the controls for Harmony Player while still providing access to all the controls for Auto Mode on the left side of the screen.

What controls are available for each harmony in Harmony Player?

Each harmony comes with mix controls for formant, pan, and level. Additionally, there are master mix controls, including EQ, envelope, gate, and width.

Can I tune the harmonies like a vocal in Harmony Player?

Yes, harmonies in the Harmony Player can be tuned in a similar way to a vocal using Auto Mode. The controls, such as Retune Speed, Flex Tune, Natural Vibrato, and Humanize, are conveniently placed on the left side of the GUI in Auto-Tune Pro 11.

How can I control Harmony Player's individual harmonies in real-time?

Closing the Mixer controls for the Harmony Player reveals four pads. These pads can be set as latching or momentary, allowing real-time control with a mouse or MIDI controller to turn individual harmonies on and off. Additionally, there are Smart MIDI Learn functions for all knobs and buttons in Auto-Tune Pro 11, including those for the Harmony Player pads. Simply right-click on a pad, knob, or button, and select “Learn” from the drop-down menu. This will automatically map these controls to a MIDI controller as long as it is set up to receive CC messages, enabling you to adjust parameters such as pan, formant, level, and toggle individual harmonies or all at once.
