Warm Audio has introduced a new stereo valve microphone that modernizes AKG’s renowned C24. The WA-CX24 features dual CK12-style capsules, similar to those in the WA-CX12, paired with TAB-Funkenwerk USA output transformers, offering a faithful recreation of the original while being much more affordable. Designed to capture the spaciousness and character of the C24, the WA-CX24 provides a rich midrange and smooth top-end. Like the original C24-style mic, the WA-CX24 includes all the features & functionally that deliver a complete and professional recording experience.
Each capsule offers three traditional polar patterns—cardioid, omni, and figure-of-eight—alongside six intermediate options, and a rotating capsule assembly enables various stereo miking configurations like X-Y, Blumlein, and Mid-Side. The microphone is equipped with premium 12AY7 valves and utilizes T14 transformers from TAB-Funkenwerk, while maintaining a vintage-correct sound character.
